You're not going to believe what these 79 souvenirs cost...

Shopping at Disney World is expensive.

Ears, which kids will usually outgrow, are around $20. Shirts can range from $15 to $60, depending on what you’re looking for. And do you really want to have to try and pack big toys that you could probably get from a Toys’R’Us at home?

No, of course not.

But you still want something for you (and your kids) to remember this once in a lifetime trip by.

Fear not.

There’s a solution to your souvenir sadness – pressed pennies.

Pressed pennies are available throughout the Disney World parks and resorts and cost $.51 each. There’s 79 presses in the four parks so say you hit all of them. That’s $40.29 for something you and your kids to hold on to forever.

You take your coins with you in a coin purse (or in mini M&M containers) and you’re all set. HKLDesign even sells a custom pressed penny book and coin container for $18. Well, almost.

After all, knowing where the presses are is half the battle.

While the pressed pennies are a great alternative and create an adventure out of going to the parks, there’s some things kiddos shouldn’t miss out on during their first Disney World trip, like character meet and greets.

Disney sells autograph books in the parks for $8 as well as larger pens that are perfect for characters who wear gloves (Mickey, Minnie, Donald Goofy, etc.). However, Etsy is a great place to look for autograph books, especially Howddode, who sells personalized autograph books for $2.
